But that's not too hard, you say? How about the infamous Trail of Souls, an Unexpected Shmup Level where you have to shoot down enemies to get certain magnus that are otherwise Permanently Missable, but also have to fight them to get special magnus they drop and their pictures? Or the various character shots? Each character has two pictures a regular one that sells for virtually nothing, and a 'rare' portrait, which only has a small chance of appearing for every picture you take. You have to take a snapshot of every enemy and boss in the game.

The prequel even adds in the lovely option of combining magnus, which makes the task all the more fun. Add this to the fact that magnus actually change over time (one in particular taking three hundred and thirty six hours to do so), and you have a challenging task. Ideally, such a player carries a camera everywhere, in everyone's deck, and references the internet frequently, so as not to miss that one card dropped by that one enemy in the Trail of Souls, which you visit once. 100% Completion in Eternal Wings refers to collecting all 1000+ of the magnus, a task designed only for the truly dedicated/insane player.note And the worst part is, if even one goblin remains uncaptured, you'll get the ending scene where all the pots in the world are destroyed, as if even having one goblin in the wild somehow allows it to multiply like a walking cancer cell. Standing in a corner on a flower tile and NOT MOVING, causing it to blend in with the ground unless your eyes are as sharp as knives or you know it's there. Once you have found and turned in all 54, only THEN does the last one spawn.in the room where you started the game. The final two cherries on the pain sundae are 1) If you're missing a couple once you find the last one in the final dungeon, there's no way to tell in game just which ones you missed, only how many you've found, and unless you have an amazing memory, even with a guide you'll have to likely comb through who knows how many towns and dungeons again to find the missing ones, and 2) (and this is by FAR the bigger example), you can only find 54 of the 55 goblins throughout the game. While it's not very difficult to find 3/4 or so of the little buggers by just checking every pot and cabinet or encountering them running around, finding all 55 is greatly complicated by 1) Numerous ones only coming out at night, forcing you to double check towns and even a dungeon or two (for example, the late game Graveyard dungeon has one that will only show up in the main room at night), and 2) The little buggers run around so fast that they can easily run away from wherever they spawn, causing you to walk right past one or two that's just run offscreen without you knowing it, unless you obsessively check every square inch of every town and dungeon, sometimes more than once. Artifact Adventure has the Jar Goblin sidequest.

Curious about the different coloured location markers on the world map? Can you see a pattern developing? You will, however, find some information about the pop-up icons on the map in the help file entry about Requests And Rumours.

For example, the small progress bar underneath enemy icons.

The help files also say nothing about the stats for Max & Min Damage, Attack, Defense and Speed, and how they do or do not affect battles.Pay close attention if the game says anything about the Chain and Max Damage stats that appear during fights: the help files don't mention them.
